AUSTRALIA

Australia has sent 2000 troops, jet fighters and warships.

BAHRAIN

Headquarters of the US 5th Fleet.

BRITAIN

Announced commitments of about 45000 military personnel, naval vessels and aircrafts.

BULGARIA

Bulgaria granted the US the use of the Sarafovo Black Sea airfield for refuelling, opened its skies to US warplanes and sanctioned the dispatch of 150 troops to near Iraq to tackle non-conventional warfare threats such as chemical or biological attack.

CROATIA

Croatia agreed to open its airspace and airports for possible U.S. military action against Iraq, but only to civilian transport aircraft.

CZECH REPUBLIC

The Czech Republic has sent a 360 soldiers with chemical or biological agents.

HUNGARY

Hungary has agreed to host a training camp for Iraqi exiles.

ITALY

Italy will offer logistical assistance and has given the US to use military bases and ports in line with longstanding NATO commitments.

JORDAN

Jordan has agreed to let the US carry out search and rescue missions from its territory during any military operations in eastern Iraq, and offered free passage through its airspace.

KUWAIT

Kuwait offered to host US troops who had been intended to be deployed in Turkey.

OMAN

Base for US Air Force bombers and AC-130 gunships used in the Afghanistan campaign.

PORTUGAL

Portugal has made NATO air bases and an air base in the mid-Atlantic Azores islands available.

QATAR

Qatar has provided a mobile headquarters for US Central Command.

ROMANIA

Romania has agreed to deploy 278 troops, chiefly anti-chemical and anti-biological warfare units, as well as medics, engineers and military police. It has also opened its skies to US warplanes.

SAUDI ARABIA

Saudi Arabia has allowed the US to use its Prince Sultan Air Base.

SLOVAKIA

Slovakia agreed to deploy an anti-chemical and anti-biological warfare unit to the Gulf. It will send up to 75 soldiers.

SPAIN

Spain has promised Washington the use of bases.

TURKEY

Turkish parliament refused permission for deployment of American troops in the country but has already allowed the US military to modernise some bases.

UAE

The UAE hosts some 3,000 troops. The country is used as a base by U.S. surveillance and refuelling aircraft.

UKRAINE

Ukraine has agreed to send a squad of soldiers specially trained to clean up chemical and nuclear contamination.
